Pitter Patter (5:53:27 PM)
It's a rainy Saturday in Boston. While I admit I was rather hoping for some nicer days, it's just beautiful sitting in my office with the windows wide open doing some work and listening to the rain. Kaju (one of my cats) is dozing contentedly on the synthesizer keyboard, and the energy level here is pretty serene. "Bad" weather, after all, is relative.
I'm going to dinner with some of my family in a little while at Elements, a wonderful restaurant in Arlington center. They just reopened with the new name; they used to be called "Tea Tray in the Sky". The interior has been completely redone and it looks gorgeous. Even better, the new menu really shines - the chef, Bill Flumerfelt, has come up with a list of delectables amongst which I, at least, had a very hard time choosing when I was there on opening night (I settled on the Steak Frites and the Quail appetizer, btw... mmm). There is still a large tea selection, but the extreme focus on tea and the Alice In Wonderland whimsy are both gone, replaced by a comfortably elegant dining experience for which you don't have to drive into Boston. (full disclosure - I'm friends with the owners and own a small bit of their stock myself, but my food sensibilities don't get affected by that :)) I'm looking forward both to dinner and to hanging out with my peeps.
