Stephen Wolfram is a brilliant scientist. He is best know for creating Mathematica Software which still is the premier tool for symbolic programming.
Wolfram gave a keynote address at Comdex this year and jokingly (at least I think he was joking) gave the exact date of the economic recovery. Knowing this guy and his computer models I wouldn’t bet against his prediction.
If you are the type who likes meta-mathematics then check out A New Kind of Science, his 1200 page tome that brings his complexity theory to all kinds of disciplines.
