Al Sharpton in Greensboro

alsharptongreensboro2-6-04Based on Al Sharpton's speech last night, I will give him the benefit of the doubt and announce that my impression of him was that he is pro personal responsibility while also being pro collective identity.  Somehow this also can support the position that people have a right to health care and a right to education.  You can listen to his Greensboro speech on Thomasville's new radio station WEOM 103.1 FM at 5:00pm this Sunday and draw your own conclusions on his viewpoints.

According to the News and Record, during his Greensboro stop Sharpton also called for NAFTA to be rescinded. "Wall Street isn't hurting, displaced workers are, he said."  It is not apparent  that his position is based on a love for truly free markets or on defending US sovereignty, but I'll toot the horn of anyone who wants to bury the NAFTA trade cartel.
