He's baaaack...

Gunning for NC's 13th district this time, congressional candidate Vernon Robinson adds another classic TV ad to his repertoire.

From Vernon's own review (not yet posted):

One left-wing blogger wrote, "My head just exploded!" Another wrote, "It's worse than the Swift Boat and Willie Horton ads combined."

His earlier post.

NC rides stock market lottery

This, from a trusted news source, caught my eye:

"Consider the North Carolina municipal retirement fund that is hundreds of millions underwater on GM stock today."

North Carolina's Retirement System however recently received a AAA rating from Standard & Poors.  One of only eight states in the nation to attain this highest mark.

I suspect NC's pension fund managers are using the latest software tax dollars can buy to make money elsewhere for offsetting the losses on their GM holdings.

They ought to be anyway since current and retired state employees have a new $19 million dollar plus system for tracking their retirement benefits.  I wonder if the new system pops up any disclaimers like, "Investment can and do loose value...including loss of principle."

The N&R meanwhile believes that the lottery is far and away the most important financial matter citizens of Guilford County need to be kept abreast on.

Question: Do I have a financial obligation as a taxpayer to assure that state pensioners are more secure in their retirements than GM and US Air employees?
