It's tough to draw a crowd these days.
If you belong to a group that has trouble getting people out and into your meetings, you are not alone. This is the turnout for the March 2nd Charleston County GOP Convention whose speakers included two governors (Sanford-SC and Huckabee - AK) and two Congressman (Brown-SC and Ravenal- SC retired now running for school board). Arthur Ravenal had the best quote of the evening. Noting that 60% of Charleston County's property taxes go towards funding a woefully performing school system, he quipped, "We don't own our homes in Charleston county we rent them from the Charleston County School Board." Earlier in the evening the Charleston County GOP had passed a resolution calling for the abolition of property taxes. (And Libertarians are crazy?) 1:45:33 PM comment [] |
