Gay Bar. Oh, this is so brilliant. A music-videoclip featuring George and Tony. "YOU - I wanna take you to a GAY BAR!! Let's start a nuclear war - at a GAY BAR!!!" I haven't seen anything better for ages. Watch it, please do. It's hilarious. Available in Flash6 or Quicktime."I've got something to put in you..." Thanks Michael, via Email.

A repeat. This is an old entry from November, 11. And I still like it. Worth repeating. Guess what: All the links still work!Slot Car Racing! When I was about 4 - 5 years old, my father once brought home a Scalextric Racing track. It came with two Lotus Formula 1 cars (or was it Vanwall?), and the little plastic drivers inside the cars actually leaned into the bends. That was great fun. Later on, when I was 14, I got a german Carrera 1:24 track, 4 lanes and you could tune the cars with softer wheels or high-tuned 'engines'.
Back to Scalextric, because Carrera isn't much available here in England. At The Slotcar Race Place at Anders Lattermann you can find a lot of Scalextric track layouts as PDF files. This site is definitely worth a visit. And this Slot Cars Site is another site about slot cars. If you want to tune the cars, have a look at Slotcarracing - Your favourite slot car.
Good grief...this is really nerd stuff. But very enjoyable. Definitely more fun than Playstation.

Ink. Just found on Hans Presto's fabulous BLAM! Design website a link to Illustrator Draftsman 3 & 2, which is basically a complete drawing course as a PDF document. Fantastic."This is one of four in the US Navy Draftsman (DM) training series . Volume 1 is an overview of general shop administration, available equipment, required operator adjustments, and equipment maintenance. Knowing the capabilities and limitations of the equipment before creating artwork is essential." So in case Quark Xpress crashes again and renders your computer useless, you know what to do: get out the old drawing board, together with pen and ink.

The Art of James Bond. This is the title of a fascinating website dedicated to Ian Fleming's James Bond and all the artists behind his work. All the covers of the rare first editions are there, all the poster artwork, the main title designs and lots more. One can spend hours over there."Welcome to The Art of James Bond - a look at the world of 007 via the artwork that has promoted the character across all media from the early 1950's to the present day. The literary world of James Bond is represented via the artwork of the first editions and paperback covers through to the often overlooked 007 comic strip and Playboy serialisations. The art of James Bond in the cinema is examined in-depth with features on poster artwork from around the world and a look at the work of key production designers and the creators of the influential Main Title sequences." Sounds good. London Review of Books opens shop. Books: New venture by a literary magazine eschews the pile-'em-high philosophy of the giants of the bookselling world. [Guardian Unlimited]."Hard by the British Museum, in a building recently vacated by a spa that offered solace to the dying, a new old-fashioned bookshop opened on Monday. It does not sell How to Succeed manuals, has no truck with discounting, and refuses to dally with two-for-the-price-of-one offers. There are no feng shui books either. Instead its shelves are packed with one copy - in some cases two - of some of the finest titles in print, selected by a formidable team of critics."
