Policlicks

Well, well, well. Tara Grubb for Mayor? Hmm. Interesting. Very interesting indeed. First got wind of this from Ed Cone's blog. What a ball of energy Tara is.

Yes, I still browse The (Greensboro) Rhino Times. I liked what Hammer said about David Hoggard who is running for Greensboro City Council. Even though I have not voted in Greensboro for several years now. By the way, Hoggard's web site is a good example of what a political web site should be, blog included. Thanks to Ed Cone for drawing attention to it.

The politics here in Charlotte seem a lot less interesting, however I have yet to know all the names and faces. In addition, I am looking forward to seeing a more fleshed out version of the Rhino Times here in Charlotte, about things going on here. The beeps and letters seem sparse comparatively.

I was in shock and awe the other day when I read that the state will begin charging care facilities and daycares for state inspections based on capacity. This seems illogical, just like a robber suing a homeowner for the injury the robber sustained while robbing the home (or making the homeowner pay the robber for his time and gas expenses)!

What A Scene!

Last Friday I went to The Steeple Lounge, to watch the show and video taping of my fave local band Etheric. Rumor has it a famous person attended. Lead singer Christine Navarro looked especially star-like with glittery eye makeup and daisies in her upswept hair. She is a breathtaking sight-her and the whole band, the whole atmosphere.

The Steeple is a 21 and over music bar that features local art on some of its walls, awesome lighting and a gothic look. It was very interesting watching the people, so colorful, interesting, all having a great time no matter who they are with. Guys dancing together, girls dancing together, guys and girls dancing, just a real cozy scene!

I bought an awesome Etheric T-shirt, I hope the band will start to sell them online.

I went ahead and finished listening to the audio tape of the latest Harry Potter book, but didn't manage to finish Ender's Game before I had to return it to the library. I will have to check it out again. Currently I'm reading Dreams Do Come True by Layne Delfen, a book on dream analysis from a psychological approach. I found this bok while browsing the WBT 1100 AM web site, on Keith Larson's page.

Oh, yeah. Happy 60th birthday to my dear old dad, and happy 28th to my friend Alysha!!~Jennifer
