Always History

Interesting vantage points were in diverse place on the web. Flickr, personal blogs and newspaper blogs, as well as the BBC, carried the observations in writing and photos of the July 7 London bombings. In the today's New York Times, Robert MacMillan wrote:

Witnesses to History . People like me spend years in J-school learning how to do it just right. London's amateur journalists, packing camera phones and an urge to blog, reminded us yesterday how simple it should be. By Robert MacMillan. [Technology - Industry News, Policy, and Reviews]

Our amateur journalists (and photographers) inspire everyone who writes.

I wish I could see more history in the everyday moments. Mostly my days are everyday moments, but this month brings an historic change in California's two major data centers. On Monday July 11, the State of California has a new Department of Technology Services, which could provide new ways technology serves citizens and the state agencies better with technology.
