Podcast as Word of the Year
Wordsmiths hail podcast success. The term 'podcast' has been declared as Word of the Year by the New Oxford American Dictionary. [BBC News | Technology | UK Edition]
I need this reference and you can read it too. I assume the world knows

Security development we should have seen coming
eBay pulls Excel vulnerability auction. Spoilsports [The Register]
My prediction for next: a wikipedia battle over detailing vulns in some
entry, say MS Internet Explorer. A vulnerability would be there one day
and gone the next.. I think we can see who is posting and removing, as
in the podcast history changes.

ComputerWorld:
EFF files suit over e-voting in N.C..
The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a national digital rights advocacy
group, has filed suit against the North Carolina State Board of
Elections for allegedly certifying three electronic voting systems
without completing detailed, state-required reviews of the software
they use. [ Computerworld News]
More on the EFF site and ACM site (links to follow: when I have a little time).
