Getting the Right Information into the Right Hands A old post at Open Oasis mentioned:
This shows that using web-technology to get the information into the hands of legislators, state and local government staff and citizen groups can provide critical tools to make sure the right decisions are made.
Blogs today have grown from a fringe tool into a powerful and easy to assemble solution. Not only is it possible to quickly customize a blog, but none technical people can make postings, and a whole team of staff can share a blog and post to it. That was a year ago but still true or truer.
RSS works better than email or groups to put control of the flow of information into the recipient's hands. I think the XML and RSS use should become easier. At least one person asked me to show him how to use feed readers etc. It isn't that obvious to take the plunge into having news flow to you. I've made mistake getting too many feeds, just as I made the mistake to subscribe to too many messages per day, in active newsgroups earlier on the Internet.
