If you follow this link to Boing Boing, the Digital Restrictions Management™ seems to pop up in the states as well. Regardless of the fact that the CD is actually playable in some regions of the world, I wouldn't buy it. Sorry Beastie Boys, you are the only one with a say in this. Like it or not, if you don't resist to treat your fans as crooks, you'll go down with the Entertainment Cartel™. 10:06:48 AM |

That's all for now. It's been a lot of fun writing XMLhack since 1999, but it's time for us to take a rest. [xmlhack] Based on the frequency I managed to update my blog recently, I completely understand. To bad, anyway. 9:55:19 AM |

Microsoft races to plug IE hole. A flaw in the Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser could allow hackers to install software on a Windows PC. [BBC News | Technology | UK Edition] So that means crackers (I wonder if the BBC gets this one right eventually), are able to install software on a WinDOS PC, something the regular users crave anyway? Based on a subjective poll I did among WinDOS users, most of them are still running with the administrative account because most Software installed with it can't be run as a normal user. Maybe M$ should use this "hole" to their advantage. 9:51:06 AM |
