We Interrupt This Program...

A couple of interesting things caught my attention today. Thanks to the folks at The Electronic Flux Corporation

A show about meta-information-

E-flux newsletter has a nice write up on an upcoming show THE EXHIBITION AS A WORK OF ART at the Escola De Artes Visuais Do Parque Lage in Brasil.

The show will concern just what the exhibition itself brings to art. It will be neat to see what the participants come up with. I hope there will be some info on-line.

This is an idea near and dear to this web log, as one can see from a number of posts in The Best of John-Norris.Net as well as jsut what generally goes on here.

Hadn't thought of a show just about art shows..although the piece Installer title for piece -Interactive in my Objectification of Art- Expositoryshow is in that realm.

More do it yourself art-

DO IT - TV Version, from Hans Ulrich Obrist, features audio/video instructions on making art pieces...No, this is not like those painting classes on TV.

  • Steven Pippin's creating and using a camera juxstaposed with making a cake is too funny, like some wacked-out cooking show.

  • Erwin Wurm's shirt sculpure/performance piece is a minimalist approach that is right on.

I love this stuff. (Similar to a lot of my On-line (FREE) art.)

Back to our regulary scheduled posts, shortly...
