Artist Statement, and more.... Still looking into Learning Objects and the Pachyderm Project, which is to allow folks to create standardized multimedia presentations about art so they can easily be linked to each other...that's my .50 definition. I can see this as a great way for artists to create their own learning object concerning their own art work. As learning object data, it would be just another perspective on the piece. However, it would be an important point of view and hopefully included in any group of learning objects about of the piece. Taking it a bit further.... I think Learning Objects would typically be linked together, or an eco-system created, by an organization or editor. However, if it was possible (and I think it should be) that one could find appropriate Learning Objects across the Internet as a whole, using search engine technologies, then the whole thing really opens up. Explanations about pieces, figures, movements, would be as varied and numerous as blogs are now. Perhaps independant communities of thinkers would come up with their own art criticism / art history learning object repositories such as wikis are now. The technology may enable various folksonomies to develop...I am not sure about that one... Then there would be groups Google bombing with Learning Objects meant to push a partiuclar agenda, or meaning onto a piece of art, figure, or movement 9:56:48 PM |
