Craft Critique III

Another aspect of technique is how it is applied...which I suppose is really just more detail of the technique itself.

For example:

Was a shino glaze sprayed on with a mechanical device, or dipped?

Was a pot trimmed on the wheel with a trimming tool, or cut with a fettling knife? (a la Sandra Johnstone.)

I think it is important to go into detail about the technique, as it can effect our understanding of the piece.  Some aspects of the technique will not effect the look of the piece, but do effect how we interpret it.
