A Breath of Fresh Air
Ulla-Maaria Mutanen is coming up with a craft manifesto. It concerns why craft is becoming more and more popular.
What I like about this take, is that it is a positive craft (technique) centered. As with any manifesto, it is written in an exciting tone, and a join-the-bandwagon community building slant. However, it does not have an us against them, man-the-barricades, negative perspective.
In comparison, Garth Johnson[base ']s, albiet satirical, Pottery Liberation Front (PLF) at Alfred University (Thx Steve) is another manifesto. It was quite fun but was more of a craft Vs art type deal. (The original was lost, but the Way Back Machine saves the day!)
