Site Profile--SOSIG, Social Science Information Gateway SOSIG acts as a collection site, a training site, and referatory. The mission of SOSIG is stated this way, "The Social Science Information Gateway (SOSIG) is a freely available Internet service which aims to provide a trusted source of selected, high quality Internet information for students, academics, researchers and practitioners in the social sciences, business and law. It is part of the UK Resource Discovery Network." Use the Site Map to orient to SOSIG, it will take the user to a Browsing Index and to information about Searching and Browsing the site. SOSIG also includes downloadable training materials for teachers and students and online Internet Training Tutorials organized by subject areas that are "designed to help you improve your Internet information skills. The tutorials take around an hour each to complete, and include quizzes and interactive exercises. Each tutorial has been written by a subject expert--a university librarian or academic."
