Volume 1 (2005) of the Interdisciplinary Journal for Knowledge and Learning Objects (IJKLO) is online. The articles are available in pdf format; a print version of the journal is available by subscription. The IJKLO contains peer reviewed articles that I found thoughtful and interesting--covering a variety of issues, practices, theories, and trends related to learning objects.
"The mission of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Knowledge and Learning Objects (IJKLO) is to provide readers around the world with the widest possible coverage of developments in knowledge and Learning Objects. IJKLO is an interdisciplinary forum that publishes high quality articles on theory, practice, innovation, and research that cover all aspects of Knowledge and Learning Objects. In addition, IJKLO provides those who submit manuscripts for publication with useful, timely feedback by making the review process constructive. IJKLO will strive to be the most authoritative journal on Knowledge and Learning Objects."
The editor of IJKLO is Alex Koohang and the publisher is the Informing Science Institute which publishes several other journals:
Informing Science Journal Journal of Information Technology Education Issues in Informing Science and Information Technology Interdisciplinary Journal of information, Knowledge, and Management
The Institute plans to add an Informing Science Learning Objects Repository as a link to the Journal in the future. I suggest that the editor also consider adding html versions to the IJKLO site so that articles can be quickly scanned before doing a pdf download. _______JH
