Mezoe, the business designed to make Bluetooth easy, has come up with a novel Bluetooth application - proximity sensing. This has potential applications that include exhibition guidance, access control and security.
Cambridge, 19.6.2002 - Mezoe's Bluetooth proximity sensor tracks mobile Bluetooth devices to discover whether they are within a certain distance of a fixed base station. It has to be able to do this quickly as the mobile device could be moving at walking speed within the base station's detection zone. The response time of the sensor making a decision lies between 1 and 2 seconds. Mezoe's demonstration currently detects a Bluetooth device (say a PDA) within 1m as 'near range'. After 3m it indicates 'far range'.
Applications include exhibition guidance, access control, and security. In exhibition guidance, when a device is detected within close proximity of an item of interest in an exhibition/museum/shop/etc, information regarding that item could be made available.

WSDL is an XML format for describing network services as a set of endpoints operating on messages containing either document-oriented or procedure-oriented information. The operations and messages are described abstractly, and then bound to a concrete network protocol and message format to define an endpoint. Related concrete endpoints are combined into abstract endpoints (services). WSDL is extensible to allow description of endpoints and their messages regardless of what message formats or network protocols are used to communicate, however, the only bindings described in this document describe how to use WSDL in conjunction with SOAP 1.1, HTTP GET/POST, and MIME.

Working Late So here I am working at 5:00 AM in the morning. It has been a long time since I worked all night.
Our new business is taking shape rapidly.
Our first major project has started. Other projects are on the way. We are getting production studio space, servers, bandwidth and new hardware and software.
I'm doing the budgets now.
