Gimme a Break...
Note the lack of posts over the past few days. Just haven't had enough quiet hours to focus on finishing anything that takes any creative thinking.
Upstairs Neighbor has been home five straight days now. Compared to some noisy neighbors I've had over the years, at least this guy makes an effort to keep the noise down BUT five days of all-day-every-day "normal" noise is really starting to get to me. (I'm used to only having to put up with this for his two days off midweek and the window between 5 and 10 pm the other five days.) Over the past couple days he must have done at least a dozen loads of laundry. I don't have a problem with most housekeeping noise—nobody in their right mind runs the vacuum a minute longer than they have to, after all!—but two straight days of non-stop washer & dryer noise just about wore me to a frazzle and I'm just not up to yet another day of this...
Okay, to be fair, I know he's annoyed that I'm home all the time so he can't just be loud when he wants to be. Not like it's exactly my choice to be too feeble and too broke to live my preferred Out-and-About lifestyle...
Oh, well. At least I have been making great progress on organizing my clipart! One of the reasons I got this computer with its spacious hard drive was so I could have all my clipart in one place instead of having to go through a dozen different CD's every time I need just one little piece of art. It's an ongoing project labeling and categorizing and deleting duplicates, but gradually I'm getting a couple dozen CDs' worth of graphics sorted to the point I can put my hands on an appropriate picture in just a minute or two rather than blowing a whole afternoon. Even with the tv upstairs too loud overhead, I can still recognize the difference between a picture of water skiing and a picture of a cow!
