This time it's not my fault! Well Monday Mission didn't get posted until late last night so here's mine, late again: PromoGuy's Monday Mission 2.51
I’ve sort of been both. I’ve been rather miserable to deal with the last couple of months because of job and financial pressures and have pretty much taken it out on everyone around me. On the other hand, I’ve gone out of my way to help some people and extended myself financially on their behalf, even though it meant I had to make some sacrifices. 2. Are there any Christmas television commercials that you look forward to each year? Not now. I always used to like the Norelco commercial with Santa riding on the “three floating heads” when I was a kid. The commercials nowadays seem, well, so commercial. 3. Are you the type that likes to know what you are getting as a present (do you rattle the boxes?) or do you like suprises? I like pleasant surprises for Christmas. No matching tie and handkerchief please. If there were something I know I definitely want, I’d usually just rather get it myself. 4. Have you ever been scared of those "mall Santas?" Is there anything at "the mall" that does scare you? I’ve never been scared of the mall Santa’s. The rest of the people, well that’s another story. It almost seems like a preview of how people would act if some natural catastrophe or act of war occurred. It seems to be cutthroat and every man for himself. People will just kill you for a parking space or that last item of whatever on the shelf. The mall is the last place you’ll find any resemblance of the true spirit of Christmas. Plus, I swear that personal Romulan cloaking device I bought last year must be accidentally activating itself on a regular basis. I am constantly being run into by people, especially women with strollers. Maybe next year I'll go on a Segeway 5. We've talked about Holiday foods you love, so what holiday foods do you hate? Anything my brother-in-law’s girlfriend makes. I swear she’s trying to kill us all. 6. Have you ever forgotten to buy someone a gift? How did that situation play out? As a matter of fact, I just ran out of the office to get my secretary a gift after finding her gift to me on my desk this morning. Thank God for liquor stores and Champagne. 7. Describe (or post a pic of) the tackiest holiday yard decorations you've ever seen? Please, don’t get me started. Bonus: Can the people on TV see me or am I just paranoid? Yes to both questions. Today's Comment Question: What was your best! present! ever!?? That’s a tough one. It had to be when I was still just a kid and was probably something that by today’s standards would be pretty unimpressive. I guess it was when I got “Operation Moonbase” which came with a bunch of rockets, space capsules, toy astronauts and moon men. Or maybe the time my grandmother got me a four foot long model (assembly required) of the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Enterprise. Another would be my first transistor radio. I felt so grown up getting something like that.
