This is my first post, hopefully of many, from OSX.

My 17" PowerBook turned up last week. I've been using it in earnest now for 2 days and I absolutely love it. The screen is huge yet the laptop is way less bulky & lots lighter to lug about than my old Dell laptop... [James Strachan's Radio Weblog]

Welcome to James. MacOS X does rock. There is so much about it that obviously rocks, but there is just as much that is easily and often overlooked. AppleScript, services (I can't even find a good link. This is the best I could do.), folder actions, Rendezvous, and Bluetooth integration just scratch the surface.

Apple hardware rocks, too, and I envy James the 17" PowerBook. I'd love to have built-in Bluetooth. The D-Link dongle is OK, but I have to remove it to put my PowerBook in its bag, etc. I'd also dig the backlit keyboard. I'm not sure whether I want the 17" screen though. I fear it would make for a laptop that would be too unwieldy for grabbing and moving about. Perhaps not, though. I should go by the Apple Store and try it out. Of course, I'd also need to get work to spring for it, as I don't think my wife would see the imperative for such an upgrade after getting my 15" TiBook only months ago.

After the Macintosh faithful encouraged him in online forums, a 21-year-old engineer from Minnesota plans to launch his own Mac-manufacturing business. His flagship product: a flat, Mac-based computer called the iBox. By Leander Kahney. [Wired News]

I fear that this will never materialize, but I would so love for it to. This looks very much like what I imagined an iServe to be. The Xserve is great, but I think there is a market for a simple server for the home and who better than Apple to provide it.
