Piles demo [monkinetic weblog]
Richard Das created a sweet Flash demo of what Apple's patented "Piles" concept could look like. Check it out, it's rumored to be a part of Panther, the codename for the next version of Mac OS X. [monkinetic weblog]

The statement that Piles couldn't be implemented without Quartz is a bit much, but that doesn't detract from quality of the demo. The sorting/searching functions reportedly mentioned in the patent make the technology even more intriguing. I have to see how I can finagle a trip to WWDC this year and get a sneak peak at Panther.
