I'd just finished posting about what a coincidence it was to run across her via a Google search for "aural onanism", when I run across Jane Pinckard's name again as a guest blogger on Gizmodo. Spooky. comment [] trackback [] 4:56:04 PM ![]() |
I thought "aural onanism" was a clever turn of phrase on my part in my earlier iMix Censorship post, and I thought I'd see what Google thought. Turns out at least two other sites have used the phrase, too. What I found most interesting was finding this post from Jane Pinckard listed first. I thought this was an interesting coincidence, as I immediately recognized Jane's picture from Orkut. I think she was one of the most viewed (makes sense if you look at her picture) or one of the other superlatives. She is also one degree away from me via Jeneane (and Joi, too, I think.)
Small net.
P.S. I just noticed another interesting thing about Google's search results. The second result listed was actually my blog but via Somniphobia. Totally dropped out there. Need to catch up. |
So I'm listening to Donald Rumsfeld address the American troops in Baghdad, and he just said something like "I'm not reading the newspapers." What does he mean by that, and why does he think it is a good thing? He followed that by saying something like "I'm a survivor." I'm guessing he is referring to his surviving calls for his resignation over the incidents at Abu Ghraib. Is he not reading the papers because he doesn't want to see calls for his resignation? I'm sure it is all rhetoric anyway, but I really think the Secretary of Defense should read the newspaper and not even suggest rhetorically that he does not. I think he should also take being a "survivor" a bit more seriously when he is addressing the men and women whose survival he and the rest of the administration have put in jeopardy. comment [] trackback [] 11:14:57 AM ![]() |
