I wish I believed this would really make a difference
Thanks to Kevin for the pointer to this LA Times article about 26 ex-diplomats and military leaders who will explicitly condemn Bush's foreign policy in a statement to be issued this week. The signatories include a number of officials from previous Republican administrations. Unfortunately, I think the unnamed Republican strategist is right when he says, "Their timing is a little off, particularly in the aftermath of the most recent U.N. resolution." Now that the administration is finally taking a more multilateral approach to the Iraq situation, it is leaving less and less room for criticism from the opposition.
