Original oil and acrylic painting NOT A PRINT, offered by the artist. It is 36 x 10.5 inches, on mounted plywood panel - similar to gallery wrapped canvas. No framing necessary! Signed by the artist.
This started out as painting of some crushed soda cans, and ended up as a commentary about my consumption of diet soda. The left panel features the cans, the right panel sports a phrenology inspired head. If you look closely at the head you'll see that the labels for the different areas don't list characteristics and personality traits (or whatever phrenology tries to suggest) but rather the ingredients and nutrition facts from the soda that used to be in those crushed cans. The cans were painted in oils, the head was silkscreened in white acrylic paint on a black acrylic background. The painting consists of two mounted panels made from plywood and 1 x 2 strips of wood.
"I work mostly in oils, and occasionally in acrylics. My subjects vary from cats to people to still life to landscape to whatever weird thing pops into my head. My most recent work explores the combination of unexpected images to create context, and to force the viewer to create context where none is readily apparent. I have sold hundreds of paintings on eBay, and my work is in collections all over the world. I am listed with Art in America. Though I have been represented by numerous galleries, the direct contact with the buyer that I enjoy with eBay makes it my venue of choice." - Jeff Cohen, The Artist
