Plone Site StatsAlan sent me a link to the stats page for plone.org. They just recently started analyzing the traffic with awstats. Wow, the output is really nice. Some interesting points in the early information. First, plone.org will do over 4M hits during the next 30 days (my guess is 4.6M). Extrapolating from the last available zope.org stats (sadly, stats are no longer done on www.zope.org), that puts plone.org at around 60% the hits of the main Zope site. Second, I'm surprised at the high percentage of Gecko-based browsers. Just a guess at the subtotals, but it looks like around 26% of the visits. Sure, I realize that it's a geeky audience, but not that geeky. :^) The relationship is further muddied by operating systems: 80% Windows, 14% Linux, and 4% Mac (approx).
Finally, the new plone.org is pretty darn fast. It's now a two-box ZEO setup, like
zope.org but with newer chips. |
Adesium: New ZEA MemberI'm very happy to announce a new member to Zope Europe: Adesium, a software house in Paris.
Gilles Sauliere, the head of Adesium, was pivotal in the success of the Zope pavilion at SolutionsLinux. Adesium, with its size and contacts with mainstream customers, certainly gives a great boost to the association. Thanks, and welcome Adesium! |
