Bank, Zope, Real ApplicationDavid Sapiro from Pilot Systems told me that we can now talk openly about the Crédit Municipal de Paris project. Zope is driving an online auction business! Adesium, the primary contractor (and also ZEA member, and participant in the Zope pavilion at SolutionsLinux) and Pilot Systems delivered the project last month. David also collaborated with BlueDynamics to improve ArchGenXML for the project, which let them sit in ObjectDomain, draw classes, and generate schemas for Archetypes.
This is an important addition to the list of big Zope sites. Crédit Municipal
de Paris is an old and famous name in France, with an auction business similar
to Sotheby's. Even better, the application wasn't about distributing web
information, but instead, was focused on line-of-business transactions. |
ZC and Zope In InfoWorldJon Udell wrote a major piece on Zope, Zope Corporation, and ZC's two commercial offerings (Zope4Media and Zope4Intranets). It's possible that this will appear in the print version of InfoWorld.
Jon mentions the
Boston.com use of Zope4Media. This is one of the most important
uses of Zope that's out there, as Boston Globe is the number two
newspaper in the U.S. At OSCOM 3, the folks from Boston.com sat on a panel
and raved about Zope and their project with ZC. |
