Goldegg article in EOSJ

Enterprise Open Source Journal is a high-gloss open source magazine with a limited but influential circulation. Raven Zachary, an EOSJ writer, visited the Goldegg packaging sprint at CIGNEX this past November. He wrote a really nice article called The Prince and the Golden Egg, with quotes from Navin from CIGNEX, Joel, Alex, and me.

Raven was intensely interesting to talk with. He's working some interesting ideas. And I'm really happy the story of Philipp Auersperg the centerpiece of the article.

Thanks again, CIGNEX, for Goldegg, the sprint, and getting your agency to line up some press for the event.

Upcoming talk schedule

As mentioned previously, I'm giving a keynote next week at ICCBSS 2006 in Orlando. Here are some other upcoming talks for me:

  • This past Sunday I was invited to speak via IRC with the Bulgarian open source community behind the WebTech 2006 conference in Sofia. I really enjoyed this chat. We talked about open source and EU policy, plus other business issues. I was originally slated to keynote at the conference but it wound up being scheduled at the same time as EuroPython.
  • I had previously been invited to speak at the Open Source World Conference in Malaga, Spain. However, it overlapped with Orlando. They asked again, so I'm doing a detour on my return. I'll speak there on Friday, Feb 17.
  • My talk submission was accpeted for Open Source and Sustainability 2006 at Oxford Business School, April 10-12. Looks like my talk might be one of the keynotes.
  • Plus one other thing that I can't talk about yet, but looks kinda cool.
