Zope Europe is now Zea PartnersAfter 2 months of discussion, planning, and getting the work done, we can finally make the announcement. As explained on our new site, Zope Europe Association is now Zea Partners.During December and January, we had 2 partner meetings to discuss the results from 2005 and review a detailed business plan for 2006. As part of these meetings, we discussed a name change and focusing our activities on two areas: promotion and projects. In February the partnership voted on the plan and renewed the membership fees. We then spent the next 6 weeks making the changes happen. Zope Europe was commonly known as ZEA, so the name change to Zea Partners, aka Zea, isn't a major change. The website has a better look now with improving content. In particular, I am committed to measurable results on a library of screencasts during this quarter. The previous zope-europe.org addresses will still work. Mail from us, though, will now come from zeapartners.org.
ZEA is dead, long live Zea. |
FLOSSWorld conference, Apr 26-28, BrusselsRishab Ghosh sent a note about an upcoming FLOSSWorld Conference. His FLOSS studies at MERIT have been a chief source of data for my speeches over the years. The MERIT work is one of the most valuable contributions to understanding open source adoption. "Workshop participants will be experts representing the interests of the open source community, government, businesses, researchers and higher education institutes, as appropriate for the workshop questions." Registration is free but required.3:35:41 PM ![]() |
