Kudos to Andreas, Philipp, et al. on Zope 2.10

Brother Whit pointed out the coolitude of what's coming in Zope 2.10, which went into beta last week. Congratulations to the always-reliable Andreas Jung (who also got out another TextIndexNG release) as the Zope 2.x release manager. He said Philipp von Weitershausen should much of the thanks on getting the Zope 3.3 parts integrated.

This release not only brings more of the Zope 3 work into Zope 2, it also marks the most dramatic steps yet towards making Zope 2 more Pythonic. WSGI, Twisted, updated docutils, etc. Whit says the beta supports eggs as well as Python products in PYTHONPATH, but I didn't spot that in the release notes.

I'd say it is going to be a pretty interesting year in the world of Python web frameworks (Python 2.5 with eggs and WSGI) as well as Zope.

Ploneability 06 conference report

Two weeks ago I was in Oxford for Oxfam's Ploneability 06 event. I wrote a trip report about the conference. I'll summarize the conference in one word: Wow.
