A new day.  Still getting used to the idea of getting information posted to this Weblog.  Did the Christmas/Holiday prep thing over the weekend so kept my mind completely off technology and the like.  I did listen to some .MP3's so I guess all was not lost.

Also since my colleague (John Bristowe) was kind enough to include a link, I will return the favor:

He as some interesting information, and should be considered a "trusted" source.

For those of you who are interested in design and construction methodologies, paradigms, process, or just interesting discussions, checkout this "debate" between Alan Cooper and Kent Beck.

http://www.fawcette.com/interviews/beck_cooper/default.asp

I think Cooper "wins" this discussion, but only by a slim margin.  I think the real problem with Beck's point-of-view is that he is a fatalist.  XP came about because business make stupid decisions when it comes to software construction, rather than try to change the business, XP just reacts.  This isn't all that much of a bad thing, but I think Cooper has it right, that we really need to change the way businesses look at software construction.
