And now for something completely different.  I just found this story on the web:

http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/ArticleNews/PEstory/TGAM/20021210/UDRUGN/national/national/national_temp/5/5/23/

The story basically talks about how Canada is in the process of decriminalizing Marijuana.  Although this is highly controversial, I have to applaud their efforts.  The U.S. could learn a lot from this.  At least to go so far as legalize it for medical use.

Now, before you start to think that I am just some freaked out pot head that plays on the web, let me state my point of view:  My brother broke his neck several years ago.  He was told he would never walk again.  Of course, this was exactly the right thing to same to him.   My brother is the type of person that will always do the opposite of what an authority figure suggests.  Within 18 months, if you didn't know him beforehand you wouldn't know he had broken his neck.  There are some exceptions to this, and he does freeze up a bit and goes through a fair amount of pain.  When he starts to stiffen up, he smokes a little grass, and is back to normal.  Many of the people that frequent a co-op he helps run, are in a similar position, or worse.  Cancer and AIDS patients who can now keep food down while on their chemo, because of a little pot.

All that said, if Canada goes through with the plan, it may just help many people in the US.
