Apache security vulnerabilities. Overview of security vulnerabilities in Apache 1.3 and 2.0 for the past 5 years. (134 words) [dive into mark]

Awesome!  25 in the past 5 years?  Incredible.  Unfortunately, with the tight integration between .NET and IIS, I'm sure that IIS will continue to gain web server marketshare.

I've been really struggling to put my mind around mainstream, commodity technology and languages vs. superior technology and languages.  It's funny -- not only does the best sometimes lose, it's amazing how frequently that occurs.

I'm not trying to say Apache will go away or even that IIS is a shoe in because of its .NET affinity.  I'm just being pessimistic because I've seen corporate technology decisions favor commodity over superiority for too long.
