Waste.

Justin Frankel created WinAmp and Gnutella, now he has created Waste.Waste is a program for setting up small, private, encrypted networks, where chatting is the main method of communication. Currently, all major chat programs, such as Yahoo Messenger, AOLís AIM, and Microsoftís MSN Messenger, are centralized. Using these means you understand and accept that all your instant messaging is running through a central server and can be monitored if need be. Waste, on the other hand, is completely decentralized.

Will ëWasteí Push File-Sharing Further Underground?

[Smart Mobs]

Very cool.  Too bad Nullsoft/AOL pulled the plug on it.  From what I understand, there are underground mirrors that contain the code now.  Maybe someone will take it and continue developing it.
