PressTV: "The top American military officer has warned Israel against orchestrating 'USS Liberty Part II' to provoke a US-led war against Iran.
The USS Liberty, a $40m state-of-the-art surveillance ship, was 'inadvertently' attacked by Israeli fighter jets and torpedo boats in international waters north of the northern Sinai Peninsula coast.
The USS Liberty was attacked by Israel in 1967. The attack, which lasted at least 40 minutes, claimed the lives of 34 American soldiers and wounded at least 170 crewmembers.
American Free Press quoted Adm. Mullen as saying that it is very 'important' at this time that 'history not repeat itself', referring to increasing speculation that Israel might stage another such scenario to push the US into a war with Iran. Although there are many conspiracy theories as to why Israel committed such a 'mistake' against its closest ally, former US seamen who served on Liberty claim authorities are guilty of a cover-up."

NYDailyNews: "In the immediate aftermath of the 2001 anthrax attacks, White House officials repeatedly pressed FBI Director Robert Mueller to prove it was a second-wave assault by Al Qaeda, but investigators ruled that out, the Daily News has learned."
If that is so, then the Bush administration could very well be responsible for the anthrax attacks as well. The motive was there, to instill fear in the Americans, and the means were available at Ft. Detrick, nowhere else. It was an inside job.
If you don't think Bush was capable of such a covert deception, read on.
Politico: "A new book by the author Ron Suskind claims that the White House ordered the CIA to forge a back-dated, handwritten letter from the head of Iraqi intelligence to Saddam Hussein.
Suskind writes in 'The Way of the World', to be published Tuesday, that the alleged forgery - adamantly denied by the White House - was designed to portray a false link between Hussein's regime and al Qaeda as a justification for the Iraq war.
The author also claims that the Bush administration had information from a top Iraqi intelligence official 'that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq - intelligence they received in plenty of time to stop an invasion'."

Guardian: "The trials for terrorist suspects devised by the Bush White House give significant advantages not seen in civilian courts to Pentagon prosecutors.
Inflammatory evidence, such as the videotape comparing al-Qaida to the Nazis that was played at the trial of Salim Hamdan, is permissible.
Hearsay evidence derived from third parties is also acceptable in the Guantánamo courtroom.
Violent interrogations can also produce admissible evidence unless a judge rules otherwise.
Defendants are presumed guilty, not innocent, at the outset of the military tribunals.
Evidence is often withheld from defence lawyers until the very last minute.
Perhaps the most extreme difference between Guantanamo tribunals and other courts is the consequence of acquittal: the US military has laid the groundwork to detain even those not convicted."

President of Russia: "The passing of Alexander Solzhenitsyn, this great man, one of the greatest thinkers, writers and humanists of the twentieth century, is an irreplaceable loss for Russia and the entire world."
Well, it looks like the West is getting a taste of its own medicine from Russia now. When Solzhenitsyn could be used by the West in the Cold War they did so without scruples, when he started criticizing the West they dropped him like a brick.
Leninology: "You can be sure that the late Alexander Solzhenitsyn is going to be celebrated in the most nauseating fashion in the mainstream press. Somewhat less importantly, the remaining supporters of the late USSR are going to waste some sorely needed energy laying a boot or two into the corpse of this 'slanderer'. There is plenty to criticise. Solzhenitsyn was notable for his reactionary pro-Tsarist politics, and for his concessions to antisemitism. And, as just as many of his criticisms of the Stalinist terror were, they were both exaggerated and conjoined to a paranoid view about the supposed menace posed by the USSR.
But this, threat-exaggeration and concomitant calls for a more aggressive US posture, was what he was loved for.
Solzhenitsyn's reputation as a novelist became secondary to his status as an anti-communist ideologue in the West.
By the time he was castigating US military interventions in Yugoslavia, Afghanistan and Iraq, and defending the Putin administration, the American right had no more use for him."
In the meantime, the Gulag was recreated by the US.
