A picture named G20.jpg We are made to believe that these are historic days and that world problems are going to be solved soon. The old boys are convening as never before and spending hundreds of millions doing so. There's the G20, NATO and the Afghanistan conference. And our tv news is full of smiling bigwigs; there's a lot of shaking of hands, of patting on backs and probably also scratching of backs. Nevertheless, these big shows cannot hide the big mess the world is in now.

Something that was deliberately kept out of our news is the death of a G20 protester.
CraigMurray: "There can be no doubt that, at the G20 protests, at times the police were unnecessarily violent towards non-violent protestors. Yet at other times they were puzzlingly non-violent towards inexcusably violent protestors.
I postulated that one explanation might be that the small number of 'protestors' who were theatrically and irrationally violent, were not actually protestors at all. I could think of other explanations, but no better ones, as to why police would not arrest a small, isolated and outnumbered group who were attacking them with sticks."

So you can add the above agents-provocateurs to the groups of protesters.

BBC: "A university professor who warned that bankers could be 'hanging from lampposts' during G20 protests next week has been suspended from his job."

Strangely enough real criminals, like George Bush and his gang, Tony Blair, war criminals, are still on the loose. NATO has been responsible for war crimes and more than one unjust war, nevertheless the charade goes on and France has entered the scam.

AlterNet: "In early March, more shocking details emerged about George W. Bush legal counsel John Yoo's memos outlining the destruction of the republic.
The memos lay the legal groundwork for the president to send the military to wage war against U.S. citizens; take them from their homes to Navy brigs without trial and keep them forever; close down the First Amendment; and invade whatever country he chooses without regard to any treaty or objection by Congress.

I thought this was - and is - certainly one of the biggest stories of our lifetime, making the petty burglary of Watergate - which scandalized the nation - seem like playground antics. It is newsworthy too with the groundswell of support for prosecutions of Bush/Cheney crimes and recent actions such as Canadian attorneys mobilizing to arrest Bush if he visits their country.
The memos are a confession. The memos could not be clearer: This was the legal groundwork of an attempted coup."

"Civilians, medics and investigators talk to the Guardian about allegations of war crimes during Israel's 23-day campaign in Gaza."

And in the economy a battle is going on as well.
WallStreetJournal: "FedEx Corp. is threatening to cancel the purchase of billions of dollars worth of new Boeing Co. cargo planes if Congress passes a law that would make it easier for unions to organize at the package-delivery company."

GreenwichTime: "An American International Group Inc. banking unit sued a Wachovia Corp. subsidiary claiming it reneged on a 2005 agreement to repurchase defective home-equity loans."

Kuykendall: "Unbelievably, AIG is suing the federal government using taxpayer dollars."

Banning people from entering a country seems to be the usual practice nowadays.

It's a pretty big mess we are in, thanks to our bankers, our governments and our political parties.
