A picture named Saakash.jpg Guardian: "Georgia today claimed to have foiled a Russian-backed mutiny at an army base, and thwarted a plan to disrupt Nato exercises.
However, a leading opposition party in Georgia dismissed the claim of an attempted coup, while a top Russian diplomat branded the allegation as 'crazy'. Russia, which last August fought a war with Georgia, said that Saakashvili was trying to shift the focus away from his domestic problems. Georgia's opposition party described the incident as 'a show' to deflect attention from protests against the president."

First Saakashvili accused the Russians of staging a coup, later he said it wasn't the Russians. There never was a coup. Saakashvili the madman simply used the coming NATO war games along the Russian border, to whip up the anti-Russia frenzy. The matter was that Col. Gorgiashvili had refused to obey Saakashvili's order to attack the protesters and this was blown up by Saakashvili as being a coup.

OrganizingNotes: "President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton have announced that they intend to keep the promise of former president George W. Bush to send $242 million in military aid to Georgia in the 2010 budget."
Is this going to be Obama's second big mistake? It looks like it. Backing a madman is bad policy. Now it's up to Obama to depose this tie-chewing lying potentate.

NYTimes: "Opposition activists clashed with Georgian police officers in Tbilisi on Wednesday night, leaving dozens of people injured, in the first outbreak of violence since widespread antigovernment protests began on April 9."

The truth is here:
MoonofAlabama: "Col. Gorgiashvili and a few other military officers got arrested and Saakashvili accused them of plotting to overthrow him with the help of Russia.
The time line and the Colonel's statement make it clear that the event was not what Saakashvili says. Instead it appears that Saakashvili ordered the battalion to prepare to violently break up the protests and the battalion commander refused to do so, told his troops to stay down and contacted the media.
This was indeed a mutiny but not one to overthrow Saakashvili . This was the rejection of an illegal order that would have started a civil war."

The 'Mexican' or swine flu seems to be diagnosed with patients who have never been in Mexico or have never been in contact with Mexicans or people who had visited Mexico.

PressTV: "The US disease prevention center claims the newly-spread potentially-fatal strain of swine flu virus may have originated from California.
The Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC) said on Saturday that the state preceded Mexico, the alleged source of the virus, in reporting cases of the affliction."
