TheNation: "Former prime minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto was assassinated on the orders of the special death squad formed by former US vice-president Dick Cheney, which had already killed the Lebanese Prime Minister Rafique Al Hariri and the army chief of that country.
The squad was headed by General Stanley McChrystal, the newly-appointed commander of US army in Afghanistan. It was disclosed by reputed US journalist Seymour Hersh while talking to an Arab TV in an interview.
Hersh said former US vice-president Cheney was the chief of the Joint Special Operation Command and he clear the way for the US by exterminating opponents through the unit and the CIA. General Stanley was the in-charge of the unit."

Guardian: "The Somali pirates attacking shipping in the Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean are directed to their targets by a 'consultant' team in London, according to a European military intelligence document obtained by a Spanish radio station.
These London-based 'consultants' help the pirates select targets, providing information on the ships' cargoes and courses.

Captains of attacked ships have found that pirates know everything from the layout of the vessel to its ports of call. Vessels targeted as a result of this kind of intelligence included the Greek cargo ship Titan, the Turkish merchant ship Karagol and the Spanish trawler Felipe Ruano.
In each case, says the document, the pirates had full knowledge of the cargo, nationality and course of the vessel.

The national flag of a ship is also taken into account when choosing a target, with British vessels being increasingly avoided, according to the report. It was not clear whether this was because pirates did not want to draw the attention of British police to their information sources in London."

We know that London is the base of many private armies, at least their headquarters. Many of them are acting under the protective cloak of the English government. Business and war are related. And PMCs operate all over the world free from official control by any government. Of course, the involvement of secret services cannot be ruled out and is even very probable.

Private 'security' companies may very well be involved in creating trouble on the high seas, thereby increasing the need for 'security' of ships. They seem to be creating their own market. When will MI6 jump on them? Or is there a mutual agreement not to hijack British ships?
