WashingtonPost: "A leading Republican senator yesterday condemned as 'a bad idea' a reported U.S. plan to keep some suspected terrorists imprisoned for a lifetime even if the government lacks evidence to charge them.
The Pentagon and the CIA have asked the White House to decide on a more permanent approach for those it is unwilling to set free or turn over to U.S. or foreign courts, The Washington Post said in a report yesterday that cited intelligence, defense and diplomatic officials."
AlterNet: "Ahmed Abu Ali, a 23-year-old Northern Virginia man, is being held without charges in Saudi Arabia. Arrested in June 2003, he has spent 18 months in custody but has yet to see a lawyer.
A U.S. district court ruling issued last week cites evidence suggesting that U.S. officials initiated [his] arrest, that the U.S. government is behind [his] continued detention, and that the reason the U.S. is keeping [him] in Saudi Arabia is to avoid the scrutiny of the federal courts."
In the meantime, a New Market SDA Church is spreading a podcast with the title 'Why Jesus Uses a Rifle'. And God Bless America gives Americans a free 50 Cal. BMG Rifle (with a lifetime warranty) when they join. Gott Mit Uns! Where have I heard that before?
There is one person I would like to see imprisoned for life and that is George W. Bush, because he is a permanent threat to America and the world.
