Yahoo: "The New York Times sued the U.S. Defense Department on Monday demanding that it hand over documents about the National Security Agency's domestic spying program."
BBC: "The Internet Service Providers' Association (Ispa) singled out the UK for its role in pushing for Europe-wide data retention laws.
The laws, requiring telecom operators to store phone and internet data to help fight terrorism, received its final go-ahead earlier this week.
Net companies are concerned about the cost of holding and managing the data."
Well, stuff happens, even to back-ups. Let them store everything on outdated storage devices. Who would know if a few Gigabyte were lost somewhere and who would care? Make it as difficult as possible to access those discs. And register all access to them by the government. Also store everything that comes from government computers.
