Independent: "The concern about global poverty shown by the British people during Live Aid in 1985 and Live8 last year may not last another 20 years."
Which also means violence will increase. Even at present tolerance is declining.
BrusselsJournal: "The grim catalogue of assaults on clerics betrays a resurgent paranoia within Turkish society - a paranoia that does not sit well with that nation's pretenses to membership in 'Europe'."
KnoxNews: "The Meigs County Sheriff's Department is investigating a possible hate crime after someone burned a cross at the home of a gay man."
Scotsman: "Serbia yesterday denounced a two-year sentence given to a Bosnian Muslim as a mockery of justice and proof that the United Nations war crimes tribunal in the Hague was biased against it."
But our governments don't care, as long as big industry is living in luxury, everything is OK.
Huffington: "This 4th of July, Americans will be sending $140 million in extra profits over last year's figures to oil companies. That's one day's take in excess profits, profits over and above last year's record levels, for Exxon, Chevron et al."
The neocon ideology of greed, privatization and deregulation is ruining our society and will result in totalitarianism. The answer abroad is increased religious fundamentalism. Nothing good can come from an intensified polarization.
