Slashdot: "A contract software developer for the CIA who had a blog on the CIA intranet was fired after criticizing torture in an entry."
MSNBC: "Four U.S. soldiers accused of murdering suspected insurgents during a raid in Iraq said they were under orders to kill all military age males, according to sworn statements obtained by The Associated Press."
What can you expect from people who will kill for oil?

It is easy to guess which countries are not backing an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon. Click thumbnail.
The rift between propaganda and the truth is like an open sore.
Independent: "This week, George Bush used his presidential veto to block a bill on stem cell research, saying he couldn't support the 'taking of innocent human life'. In Iraq, six civilians are killed by a US air strike, while casualties in Lebanon and Israel mount. George Bush (and Tony Blair) oppose UN calls for an immediate ceasefire."

ReviewJournal: "If someone looks like he could use a meal, be warned: Giving him a sandwich in a Las Vegas park could land you in jail.
The Las Vegas City Council passed an ordinance Wednesday that bans providing food or meals to the indigent for free or a nominal fee in parks.
The measure is an attempt to stop so-called 'mobile soup kitchens' from operating in parks, where residents say they attract the homeless and render the city facilities unusable by families."

As I wrote two days ago, politicians are talking about 'peace' while they are sending in the bombs.
NYTimes: "The Bush administration is rushing a delivery of precision-guided bombs to Israel, which requested the expedited shipment last week after beginning its air campaign against Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, American officials said Friday."
BlackCommentator: "US authorities subsidize the state of Israel to the tune of at least six billion per year, and corporate media take great pains to protect US citizens from news of actual human and legal conditions their tax dollars pay for. The ugly and racist realities of Israeli society and life under Israeli occupation are rarely discussed anywhere most consumers of media might find them. It is nearly taboo in mainstream US print and broadcast media to apply the words racist or apartheid to the state of Israel or its policies, or to call its control at the point of a gun of millions of non-citizens what it is, namely the longest standing military occupation in the world today."
A few days ago I heard Peres on tv telling us the nations around Israel were not democracies, so it was perfectly all right to bomb some democracy into them. Well, Israel is not a democracy, it's a racist, fundamentalist, belligerent state.
