Guardian: "The Department of Health revealed yesterday that there had been almost 45,000 cases of a virulent bug last year, killing nearly three times as many patients as MRSA."
This is one of the results of the privatisation of health care and particularly the cleaning services. To make profits cleaning firms have a minimum of cleaners, working for low wages. Before privatisation hospitals were themselves responsible for cleaning, now the aim of the cleaning firms is to make as large a profit as possible. This is much more costly, as we not only have to pay for their profits but also for the health costs involved in the resulting infections.
But don't worry, Mr Blair had a great time in Bermuda. After all his lies, cheats and malpractices he deserves a break, doesn't he?
