Today is a doubly important day for the JDeveloper 10g product. From our bug radar screen, it appears we've fixed our final bug for the 10.1.2 maintenance release, which hopefully means we can get all the final verification testing done and into your hands in the next few weeks on OTN.

Putting an end to our confusing out-of-synch product version number, the JDeveloper 10g 10.1.2 maintenance release is the first one in the 10g product line that has a version number to match its name. Sounds like a minor thing, but having products whose name has a "10g" and whose version is "9.0.5" doesn't make for easily explaining to customers. If you pretend that our current JDeveloper 10g release, version 9.0.5.2, were actually numbered 10.1.1 instead, then the 10.1.2 maintenance release will feel even more natural. It contains lots of bug fixes, performance improvements in ADF runtime (including in the Business Components layer) and a few small usability improvements to the ADF Business Components design time.

On the very same day, we're having our first internal bug hunt day on what should become an early access milestone release of JDeveloper 10g release 10.1.3, our major new feature release due out in 2005.
