I have assembled a semi-reluctant group of people to advise me on what to buy and how to proceed with my SMS project. Guess what I'm figuring out? I'm going to have to become a system administrator (gasp) of a unix (double gasp) machine in order to make this puppy scale. Now, mind you, I'm not frightened, I've used plenty of unix machines in college (1992!) so my main concern is where to put the thing. One idea is to ask my local non-internet cafe if they want to become wired, let me put my box on their shelf.

Remember when Yoda asked Luke to lift the spaceship out of the bog using the force? He said "You're asking the impossible." So far Yoda has asked me to do direct windows API programming on the pocket pc and now unix based SMS development for GSM systems. I just hope the bad guys have their own theme song...
