(shannon) Howdy to all visitors to this site. Here's my favorite musical selection lately: Coldplay "A Rush Of Blood To The Head". I absolutely LOVE this entire CD, especially "The Scientist" and "Warning Sign". The whole thing is such a three dimensional listening experience, and the guitars are so fine that I wish I had ever worked hard on guitar and become such an excellent and expressive player. Hahaha!!! Aaah laziness in life! When I first bought their album "Parachutes" I was not so enamored of the music, with the exception of "Yellow", but now as I am reviewing that earlier CD I am understanding their music better through being a fan of the more recent material. Funny how appreciation can be a retro experience, listening in reverse. At any rate, they are an inspiration for me currently. I am also spending time with the new Richard Ashcroft CD called "Human Conditions". I like it as much as his first one. I can't remember what band he was in before, but like him solo just fine. When I bought his first CD I was going through a difficult time in my life, so I recall his music as one of the mental musical landscapes of those days, and can listen to it with total emotional recall. I don't know why the brain is wired so that emotion is triggered so fiercely by our various senses, and I'm certain there are reasons to do with lobes and receptivity, but I think it's a remarkable machine, and am for the most part happy to be human for the incredible miracles of DNA and chance. That's my rambling for today. Los Angeles and surrounds are sunny and balmy today, as is my frame of mind. Oh...and one more thing. Listen to Bruce Springsteen's song "Lonesome Day", written as a reflection of 9/11 survivors as I understand it, and in addition to identifying with them, imagine an Iraqi feeling that same devastation, as no doubt they are.
With Love,
Shannon
