(shannon) OK I admit it...I heard a bootlegged copy of Radiohead's "All Hail To The Thief" today. Great title, perfectly understandable sentiment these days. This album is quite individualistic sounding, and it's taking me some time to warm to it, as did "Amnesiac". I trust the process, and respect Thom Yorke's creative vision. He's an explorer of the musical universe. Sure can relate to the lyrical content of being overcome by fear itself.

I was out in Joshua Tree, a national park here in California~ a real moonscape of prehistoric looking rock formations, tenacious desert scrub, and hardy wildlife. All kinds of life forms exisit in that seemingly inhospitable climate, including humans. What is it about a spare landscape that is so cleansing to the soul? Maybe it's just the space to inhale and exhale with no interruptions. I like that...
