I bought a second, generic battery for my Lumix FZ10 digicam on eBay. It was $7, plus $6.99 shipping. I'll keep my fingers crossed, the price was certainly right.   Shipping on eBay is such a scam, the posted price doesn't list it (I know, the excuse is some sellers vary shipping by location), but it makes such a big difference. I am certain that many eBay sellers regard shipping as a profit center. $7 to ship a battery is absurd. But it was still the cheapest.   In contrast, stuff I find on Pricewatch (only high-volume stuff, not obscure batteries) generally has free shipping. Once I ordered a single, $2 cable and got free shipping! 10:53:18 PM    comment []

They have banned FireFox at work, ostensibly because of the JPEG security hole. What a hoot--by the time they enforced the ban, the fix was already available. I do miss it. 10:41:53 PM    comment []
