Bush puts God on his side. US President George W Bush firmly believes he has placed his country on God's side by invading Iraq, writes the BBC's Tom Carver. [BBC News | Front Page | UK Edition]

Someone should remind Mr. Bush that his is the President of all Americans. Some of us don't share his religiuos beliefs - and if he uses some of the more bizarre aspects of his faith to guide his policy decisions we could be in big trouble.

Scientists from the University of Minnesota demonstrated yields of corn and soybeans were only minimally reduced when organic production practices were utilized as compared with conventional production practices. After factoring in production costs, net returns between the two production strategies were equivalent.

I guess my only comment would be "Well, duh!" And eventually, as oil prices rise, the more natural methods will offer better net returns - and that is, after all, the bottom line.
