OK, maybe the Pennsylvania Legislature isn't as weird as I thought. The following is from Wired

The Georgia General Assembly has its hands full during its current legislative session. For one, a group of fourth-graders prompted a push to make the green tree frog the official amphibian of Georgia. Rep. Victor Hill wrote 12 pages of rules to crack down on massage parlors that stay open all night. Another bill would make Bengal cats legal in Georgia. And Atlanta Rep. John Noel was so upset that he couldn't get sweet tea at a restaurant that he filed a bill to make it a misdemeanor "of a high and aggravated nature" not to offer sweet tea in any restaurant that serves iced tea. The punishment for such an egregious offense? Up to 12 months in jail.

Porn spam--legal land mine for employers. Federal employment law requires the workplace to be free of sexual harassment--that means employers could be liable for offensive images that appear in workers' in-boxes. [CNET News.com]

So does this mean that if I have a beef with a particular company, all I have to do is spam them with porno and let the resulting lawsuits destroy them? Hmmmmm ....

Perhaps the notion of personal responsibility will return to the vogue someday, but obviously not today.
